I recently stayed hear with a group, and this hotel is absolutely gross. I would never stay here ever again. The rooms are disgusting, the water pressure is terrible and a shower took me over an hour to wash my hair. Two of our rooms had dead cockroaches, another ended up with a very large live lizard in it(because they don’t seal their windows or doors) and another with large, biting red ants that had to be killed. The floors are also just unbearably disgusting to a point where I never took my shoes off and I was extremely afraid that the rooms have bedbugs. One day while lying out by the pool, I watched the staff quickly remove two beds from a room across from the adult pool, so I am fairly certain this hotel has bedbugs. In addition, one of the travelers in our group couldn’t even get body wash from the staff, and she was told that you could only get body wash if you booked a certain level of room. I’ve never heard of such a thing in my entire life. In addition to that, she booked a room through the group that we traveled with, but upon check in, that room had a cockroach in it so she had to be moved to another room of a lower quality. As such, she certainly should’ve received body wash as it was in the first room. However, the location is great and I think that’s why people stay here, but I did a quick Google search and found many other local hotels without these issues. I would beware of this hotel, and not stay here.

I’m so bummed to have to write this, but I’d like to warn other travelers to Hotel Santa Fe. Long story short, money was stolen out of our bags. A sign is posted stating the hotel is not responsible for personal items left in rooms, additionally, we had to sign a copy of that policy at check-in. This was a first for me in my travels, of course it’s usually noted in a hotel’s policy, but I haven’t had to sign a waiver distinctly and exclusively stating the hotel was not responsible for items left in rooms. I remarked to my partner that it was odd at the outset. I tried to put passports and cash in the safe but it beeped incessantly and we finally removed the batteries. This was our mistake. We should’ve talked to staff and fixed the safe. But, we were focused on enjoying our stay. At the end of a nice vacation, we’re packing our bags and realize cash that was left in our passports, intentionally tucked away into a personal bag, was gone. We searched all over, tried to think of if we had moved it, but we had no need for US currency the entire vacation. We packed and unpacked over again. Unfortunately, the only outcome we can conceive is that housekeeping (which cleans the rooms daily) searched (or rummaged?) our things and took the cash. The hotel grounds were well kept, staff was friendly, it was a sad way to end an otherwise lovely stay.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel, with restaurants and vibrant bars just a short walk away. The hotel's restaurant impressed me with its fantastic vegan and vegetarian options. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the pool was a peaceful oasis. I indulged in a massage at the front desk with Silvia, and it was one of the best massages I've ever had, especially with the use of essential oils. I highly recommend this place.

The hotel was so acquaint and comfortable. The room was very clean and although it¿s an older establishment, it is very traditional and ideal for its location. The staff was so friendly and attentive. Loved how peaceful and quiet it was too.

We came here for food in the restaurant and it was very nice. Quite a few vegan veggie options and the waiter was really helpful in explaining all the dishes and recommending some good ones. The wine was nice and generally the vibe was very good.

A little strenuous with how many steps we had to take to get to our room.

*** IF YOU CAN GO ELSEWHERE*** We booked our stay in Santa Fe Hotel, the Hotel stated they provided transportation, however upon arrival to Puerto Escondido we called the hotel and they stated we can take taxis located at the airport, that was the “inclusive transportation” they provided which you have to pay out of pocket. The rooms were horrible, the ceiling fan had a huge hole surrounding it to where you can see the cables from inside, the shower head had mold, the a/c was extremely small for the whole room, and to finish it all off the beds were extremely hard and old. The “ocean view” is available once you cross the street, we got there at 11pm and had to unfortunately spend the night, we left very early the next morning and went to Hotel Joseph which was the complete opposite from the horrible experience we first had at Santa Fe, we attempted to obtain a refund given we were only there 8 hours and had booked for 3 days, however they advised us the horrible management they have did not answer the calls and then declined the partial refund. Please safe yourself the horrible experience, there are amazing hotels and air bnbs located around, i wish someone would have advised us of such a bitter experienced we were going to have, we would’ve saved our money.

The views are breathe taking. The beaches are across the street. So close to the ocean that you can hear the waves and smell the ocean breeze. Definitely will be back
